Who We Are

We are homestead farmers, among all the other stuff in our lives. Along the way we’ve learned a lot of lessons based on a heap of mistakes and a ton of experience. We want to help those coming behind us avoid our mistakes and use what we’ve learned so they can get on with their own homesteads as quickly and painlessly as possible.

We don’t know it all—not by a long shot. What we do have is the benefit of having just done it. We have not forgotten our mistakes. They are not buried under years of effort where details are often lost in the homestead fog. Our memories are fresh and the lessons learned are raw. This makes our experience in homesteading valuable. Is it complete? Never. Are we always learning? Every day.We don’t know it all—not by a long shot. Every day.

What this means is that no matter your age or circumstance, you can indeed find a balance in priorities and abilities to get into homestead living—at whatever level is good and available to you. We did all of this by ourselves with only a little help now and then. We’ve never had a small army of interns and don’t run a homestead training mill for free labor. If we can do it, at our age, anyone can do it.
